The photograph shows the last Hungarian king, received by Joachim Görög, the Armenian parish priest, with the white-haired man behind him being Dezső Orel, the town’s mayor. According to the records of György Szabó (standing next to Joachim Görög in the photo), local Catholic dean from 1916–1918 (Historia Domus), members of the royal family—Charles, heir to the throne and later king, and Archduke Joseph—visited our town three times. The photograph was most likely taken during the last visit, in July 1918.
